Abstract
The present report explores how Italy is advancing vocational education and training (VET) aligned with EU objectives. Key focuses include enhancing agility, flexibility, and innovation in VET systems to address the demands of a green and digital economy while ensuring inclusivity and quality assurance. The initiatives are grounded in the Council Recommendation on VET and the Osnabrück Declaration, which emphasize making VET attractive and responsive to labor market needs. Italy’s approach integrates national priorities, such as reducing early school leaving, promoting lifelong learning, and supporting skills development for disadvantaged groups, including NEETs (Not in Education, Employment, or Training). This report also highlights progress on digital and green transitions in VET curricula and infrastructure improvements to make the system more effective and equitable.
